The government has opened an investigation into dangerous steering problems in the 2013-2015 Honda Accord following a petition and a strong uptick in complaints. The cars suddenly deviate from their intended path and pull hard to one side.

About the Steering Investigation

  • The petition was filed in November of 2020 and included complaints about the car executing a perfect 90 degree turn by itself if the driver took their hands off the wheel.
  • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation will cover the 2013-2015 model years, which is over 1,120,000 cars in the USA.
  • Interestingly, NHTSA has opted to skip the standard preliminary investigation and jump straight into the more intense engineering analysis phase.
